Another revolution….

~
It's my birthday today.  I have survived another trip around the sun and hope to go a good many more rotations.

When I was growing up it was always exciting when anyone in our house had a birthday.  That was the only time that we were allowed to have soft drinks and sweets.  This extended to parents birthdays as well so 6 times a year we kids flew high on sugar!

The birthday person got to choose what the family would eat for dinner that night.  I always, always chose roast lamb (baked dinner).  My mother cooked the best baked dinner and gravy.  I've never found anyone to rival her.  Even now, when I go home, I request a baked dinner even though my poor mother is in her 70's and has to use a walker to get around!!

So in the absence of a baked dinner what will I have for dinner tonight?   Pizza from great El Salvadorian place.

Feeling quite a bit better today – happy on the inside; but still a bit crappy around the edges.

  1. Thank you Aubrey. It was sooo good – pine nuts, spanish onion, goat's cheese, spinach, eggplant and sweet peppers. Should keep me rotating a little longer!

  2. Thank you Raymond. I haven't been feeling 100% this week so the flower sort of described me on my birthday – a bright center but the ragged not perfect outer.

  3. I hope you've had a wonderful birthday!!
I do the same with my family…whatever they request for dinner I make. My daughter Taylor usually asks for homemade pizza! 🙂

  4. Well then a Happy Birthday to you although I could never understand why happy always precedes birthday! what if you want to have a crappy birthday or a reflective birthday or even a somber birthday! Too bad about the meal I know some times there are things that no matter what Mother always cooked best! I hope you get to feel an all over good! It sucks to feel that strange ruff around the edges and not know what will make it any better! Have a good hot bath and take it easy! with a glass of wine

  5. Happy Birthday! And many happy rotations 'round the sun. Lamb? Clearly you have the palate of the upper class. We were presented the same dinner option of anything we want. Steak. Anything. I always picked pigs in blankets (hot dogs wrapped in crescent rolls) with a side of spinach.

  6. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I hope your year-to-come will be dazzling and glorious and full of all the wonders you wish for!!!!!!!I'm sorry this is late…. ((((((happybirthdayhugs))))))))
