The Holiday Party

~

Last night was my company’s Holiday Party.  I haven’t been for a few years because they started having them in a place that was not metro (train) accessible. This year it was in the Pavilion Room at the Ronald Reagan Building on Pennsylvania Avenue downtown – only a few blocks walk from a metro station.

So, I dolled up, getting a second wear of my mother-of-the-groom dress from 5 years ago.  The manservant thinks I should get yet another wear from it at the Princess’s wedding in 2017.   LOL!!

I swear I am not crooked in real-life:-

It was snowing in the Pavilion

The bar was open:

The food was good:

And the sweets were really superb – I tried more than one or three of these – maybe even four (they were small!) :-

It was a good night.  I probably enjoyed it more than the manservant but while I flitted around being social he enjoyed the Manhattans.

  1. What a gorgeous dress! Yes, it was worth a second wear. You should have the Manservant take you out to a few more evening soirees so you can wear it some more!

The desserts also look to die for. I have to confess I head straight for the end of the buffet table to check out the desserts. That way I know if I should fill my plate with entrees and hors-d’œuvres or save room for the sweets!

  2. Nice pictures of this good moment ! And what a gorgeous evening gown ! To have a new one, you could plead that suddenly, you feel sad in black Remembrance Day suits and be happy to wear a new flowered gown for your daughter Wed’ …like Kate Middleton’s Erdem gown ! :DD

  3. Oooooh! That looks so posh!! Including you 😉

These little nibbles look definitely like something I would return back to, too.

I’d wish there was a proper party around to doll up and wear one of the dresses that just collects dust in the closet, though just can’t get myself to give away.
Or even buy a new one. Saw this lovely rosey little thing the other day. *sigh* :))

  4. Well-dolled and well-met – glad you both found something to enjoy 🙂 And I’m glad you were able to partake in festivities. I hope it’s one of many more where you can revel in your elegance!
