Last pig-out of 2011

~

I’ve whipped up a lamb curry for the last dinner of 2011. Divine smells are wafting out of the kitchen, making my mouth water, but it’s not quite ready yet.    After curry we’ll open a couple of Christmas gifts –  a bottle of champagne and a box of chocolates.   I doubt we will be awake at midnight so,  Happy New Year everyone!   I hope 2012 is a really good year – happy, healthy & peaceful.

I intend to cut back on the bacon this year ……

  1. I don’t do bacon anymore, but that sign is a hoot. I’m not going to laugh at my cholesterol test results however, which suggest I should give up eggs and dairy as well. Happy New Year, Emjay. Hope you and the manservant have a good evening, and no awful phone calls in 2012.

  2. I still have bacon treats left over from Christmas, so that’s a resolution I can’t make.

Good 2012 to you and the manservant and I hope the boys manage not to have any more major injuries and/or drive their sister mad.

  3. My uncle sent us 4(!) pounds of bacon for Christmas. It arrived on December 20th(my niece’s birthday-and the first night of Hanukkah, lol) so we had it as part of our dinner that night, the next day(my parents had my niece and nephews overnight),as part of our breakfast Christmas morning, and in our Christmas dinner!

  4. Love the photo. I may have to borrow it one day if that is alright with you!

THe lamb curry sounds well, delectable. I am thinking of eating a bit of Ben and Jerrys tonight in celebration, but…I admit I can not move off the couch…
    SO…Hmmm…

  5. How can someone swear off something that brings so much joy?

Incidentally, champagne + chocolates is a combination which I hope will define 2012.

  6. Champagne and chocolates sounds good…Happy New Year!!! No flight to Thailand, but a good xmas-time with my new boyfriend 🙂 I think 2012 will be a good year – with friends, a good red wine, geocaching and lots of surprises 🙂
