My laptop has had to be airlifted to intensive care…. over the weekend just after I had downloaded my photos from the Arboretum it developed some very weird hieroglyphic type scribble over the desktop. I have a mac which is almost 3 years old and have never had a problem with it till now…. luckily it is still just within warranty! Usually when things breakdown it is a couple of weeks after a warranty expires.
So, until that comes back I am in a form of timeshare on the manservant's machine……
Luckily I had not quite deleted my Arboretum photos from a memory card as there is no guarantee they are going to come back still on the laptop and that would've been very depressing! So here is the rest of Sunday's outing.
We left the Ellipse where the Columns are:
And headed further down the road:
And then went down a track which was muddier than it looks:
And just took in nature:
Then it was time to head out of this wonderful place:
Get well soon little laptop – I miss you!
I love the colours of autumn. It's probably my favourite season, when nature itself sleeps.
You are having a late night! 🙂 I think spring is my favourite as a symbol of emerging life.
Hehe, I am having an early morning I think! Night shift this week, so 6pm start, 6am finish.
Spring is a very pretty season, but there's something about autumnal colours, and the fact that all of those colours bleed away into the grey of winter. Another favourite season of mine. Autumn just edges it away though 🙂
Beautiful! You are an artist! Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful pictures of beautiful places! What a lovely day for an outing. — JG
Your pictures from the weekend are wonderful. We have had nothing but rain here for days on end. May see some sunshine tomorrow. Most of us will probably wonder what in the world it is! LOL
Lovely photos!
These lovely photos are making me homesick! Well wishes for your laptop.
OMGosh these are all so lovely!! Best wishes for your laptop's quick recovery….including all the data.
Beautiful photos. I'll keep my fingers crossed for your laptop to make a swift recovery…
Lovely autumn pictures, all of them! Enjoying imagining you and Mr Manservant in the middle of the beautiful nature there.
Hope your laptop be recovered perfectly.
Stunning photos Emjay! I can't even pick one favorite…they are all wonderful! Looks like a couple of them could be great entries for the PhotoQuest that ends today. 🙂
Glad your warranty was still in effect. Little blessings… 🙂
Pretty colors. Here's hoping the laptop is recovered from its ails. Hard drives do crash and burn; the 3-year mark is not uncommon.
Whatever 2756 is, it is unusual and a stunning colour.Again simply superb photography Emjay Thank you.
Thank you very much Karen.
Stunning foliage. Hope your computer feels better, there's so much that can go wrong these days!
Thank you very much James – it is a lovely place which we visit two or three times a year.
We have had quite a bit of rain here also. The last three w/ends have been mostly wet – Saturday was awful but then Sunday was sunny and then the rain came back Monday night and only went away again this afternoon. It's due back again on Friday. The wet is making the fallen leaves slippery on the sidewalks & roads.
I'm sorry you are missing the East Coast autumn – one year we went up to New Hampshire and Vermont at this time of year and it was really, really gorgeous. I really miss my laptop – it is awful really how dependent we get on something like that.
Thank you LBeeeze. I copied my photos onto DVDs about 3 weeks ago and since that time I have not photographed anything "special" but it will still be frustrating if I lose those.
Thank you Vicola – I cart my laptop all around the house – on the coffee table, on the couch, out on the deck, in bed … not so easy with the desktop! LOL.
Thank you Magnifika – we did have a lovely time wandering around. Thank you also for the get well wishes to my laptop – I hope so too!
Hi Amy Sue – thank you re the photos. I don't think they are quite out of focus enough for the quest and I didn't take fuzzy and clear of the same subjects to compare. (I only read the quest after you'd suggested it).LOL – I usually find that my broken things are just out of warranty as though they are made to only last that long.
Hi there! I saw on LBeeeze's post that you are only popping in at this time – I'm glad you popped by me – I've been wondering how you were going.
Isn't it a gorgeous colour and such a pretty cluster. This was one of my favourite shots of the day.
Thank you Emmi – yes one minute things are working and then they are not! It's amazing how dependent we get to be on things that quite honestly we could live without.
Nice to be remembered 🙂 and yes, just the pop-in. 🙂
It so good that you had already copied your photos. You have so many beautiful ones.
Such evocative colours – and wonderful photography. This really is the dream season as far as I'm concerned for colours in nature 🙂
We actually had a bit of sunshine yesterday evening but it is raining again today.
Beautiful pictures. Nice autumn's colours.Congratulations.
Fabulous shots. Wow!
Thank you Erroll – yes nature's colours really come into their own in Autumn.
Thank you very much Alienor. 🙂
Thank you Kzinti – I'll bet the colours are even more intense this w/end …..
This is a set of really gorgeous photos!
Thank you so much Ellen!! 🙂
