  1. Yes that is so, so true – nothing has changed. It is something which is not shown to the outside world when televising the Capitol and White House as symbols of a great democracy.
In a few months (April) all the cherry blossoms will be out and then the area really looks spectacularly beautiful.

  2. Oh wow, does this ever take me on a nostalgia trip! I lived in Arlington, VA for years, used to ride my bike across that bridge to go to the museums. On July 4th, this bridge was closed to traffic and made a good 'secret route' out of the city for cyclists after the fireworks show.Just looking at that photo makes my heart flutter with remembered emotions. *sigh*

  3. Oh I didn't know that. I wonder if they still do that.
We rode our bikes over it to ride to Mount Vernon – a return ride of 54 miles!! I was fitter a couple of years ago. 🙂

  4. LOL! I took all these with a little Canon point & shoot camera which I love. I have it in my handbag every day "just in case" but I have not got it out very often for that purpose – I always seem to be rushing to or from work without taking time to see photographic opportunities around me – however, in my defence, at the moment I am travelling to and from in the dark!
